Ben Banks Comedy Bonanza 2023 was a huge success raising $13,000

Our fundraising events support the yearly giving to Ben's Toy Bins, Ben's Scholarship and investing in future growth of Ben's Foundation.

Ben's Foundation was able to give out two Blackhawk scholarships this year, each $1000.

This summer we were proud to add Western Psych Children's wings to Ben's Toy Bins. Supporting mental health has been one of the main goals of Ben's Foundation from the start. It is very close to our hearts since Ben lived life with Autism/ADHD and ARPKD. He couldn't have managed these without the multitude of therapies and supports in place for him and our family. We are so proud of all Ben was able to accomplish even though he struggled with speech, fine motors, cognitive, social, emotional, and anxiety. Ben was pushed to be the best he could be. Therapy taught him how to work through his daily mental hardships.

Ben's Foundation will continue looking for ways to support mental health.

Thank you everyone for coming to celebrate Bens 16th Birthday with us and supporting Ben’s foundation. It was a fantastic day of fun watching the kids and adults giving their all at dodgeball.

The Dodgeball Tournament was an enormous success raising $21,500

Thank you everyone who sponsored, attended, volunteered or played. It was a really special day celebrating Ben, with something he loved. This fundraising event was all inspired by Ben and his love for gagaball and dodgeball. Ben would ask his gym teacher Mr. DeCaria every gym day if they were going to play dodgeball. Thank you Mr. DeCaria for sharing this story about Ben with us and then helping us make this fundraiser a reality.

The day was filled with friends, fun, and so much laughter.

This event raised $19,476 for Ben's Foundation. A truly mind-blowing amount raised in memory of an amazing boy.

Cheese board/cutting board fundraiser 2020, 2021, 2022

Ben’s Boards are made of various Pennsylvania hard woods and coated with a food safe cutting board oil that gives the board a deep, rich, & protective finish. The boards are perfect for cutting cheese’s, bread, or to use as a serving board for hor d’oeuvres

Over the years 650 cheese boards, cheese slicers, and cutting boards were handmade by Ben Jr’s Dad, Mom, friends, and family. These boards raised over $15,000 all going to support Ben’s Foundation.

Ben Banks Toy Bins - Christmas 2020 & 2021

Due to COVID-19 we held a virtual event to raise money for Christmas gifts for kids who were stuck in the hospital during Christmas. Thank you for two years of success in raising $6000 in 2020 and $5000 in 2021.

We will continue to raise funds to support Christmas gift giving through Ben Banks Toy Bins.

T-SHIRT Fundraiser - June 20, 2020

Ben Banks Hot Rod 5k/1 mile fun run was cancelled due to COVID-19 2020. Instead we had a T-shirt sale that raised $2700.

Thank you to all who supported Ben's memory by purchasing a shirt. We called it NONE K, because Ben would use none as a substitute for zero, one of his many goofy uses of words.

Ben Banks Toy Car Bins, December 2019

We collected 4,200 cars that were used to fill Ben Banks Toy Car Bins at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Donations are important because even though Hot Wheel cars only cost a dollar, there are a lot of kids checking in and out of the Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital each day. Thank you for helping to make the Ben Banks Toy Car Bins a permanent fixture Children’s hospital. By donating, you have kept Ben’s memory alive, and put smiles on the faces of children who need it the most!

Saturday March 30, 2019 - Wright Fields

Ben Banks 5K/1 mile fun run was a huge success, raising $10,000! Thank you to everyone who came to participate, help, or just watch. It was an amazing day to remember Ben by supporting the Scholarship fund. It was heartwarming to see Ben's classmates celebrating Ben's life in a fun and energetic way. Ben had a zest for life and didn't miss out on a chance to play. What a way to honor Ben by taking time to have fun!
