In Early 2021, Ben’s Toy Bins has reached the the Children’s hospital wings of Harrisburg. this is just the beginning of the growth we want to begin in other hospitals. Please help us continue the goal to keep Ben’s Toy Bins going indefinitely and spreading the great joy of toys to other Children's Hospitals.
July of 2023, Ben’s Toy Bins has begun Ben’s reward toy bins at the Children’s Wings at Western Psychiatric of Pittsburgh.
Mental health affected Ben and our family on a day to day basis. Ben was diagnosed with Autism/ADHD at age three, and it was an up hill battle from then on. Ben received many in home services to help him become the best he could be. Services such as Speech, Occupational, Physical, and Behavioral therapies. Our family learned right along with him so we could provide him with support where he needed it most.
Ben overcame so many obstacles and we are so proud of all he accomplished in his short life. We hope Ben’s reward toy bins at Western Psych. will bring happiness, encouragement, and hope to all who need it.
Ben’s Toy Car Bin’s started with a simple idea to bring new toy cars bedside to kids staying at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. As we knew from experience it was very boring and tedious for our child staying at the hospital. This was Ben inspired all the way!
We got thinking about how, Ben Jr. loved playing with toy’s more than anyone we knew. He particularly loved going to the store and picking out Hot wheel cars. He would pour over the displays and dig through the huge car dump bins, picking out his favorite car. This ignited the idea that we wanted to bring toy cars bedside in the the form of a mini dump bin.
Our hope was recreating the feeling kids got by picking out a brand new toy car to open and play with. Kids can look through the bins and pick out their favorite, and since these are small inexpensive toys they can pick one out daily. So far we have given away 30,000 toy cars through the Foundation set up with Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh!
As we move forward and want to grow Ben’s bins we have changed Ben’s Toy Car Bin’s, that exclusively distributed toy cars, to Ben’s Toy Bins that is providing toys for all ages, and genders. This title change will help reach more kids with new toys.

We got to assemble a HotWheels Sto-N-Go car wash, that goes bedside for a child to play with in there room. It was very exciting and emotional to see Ben’s Toy Bins in person as well. We could just picture the joy it would’ve brought Ben to choose from a bin full of new toys, and to play with the HotWheels Car wash. Our hope is to bring that joy and distraction to any child not feeling well.
